Géraud de Franclieu has extensive experience in M&A transactions and in Private Equity (LBO, LMBO, OBO, Venture Capital). Prior to joining the firm as a partner in 2014, Géraud had been with Allen & Overy LLP, DLA Piper UK LLP, STC Partners (Counsel) and Courtois Lebel (Partner).
He has represented French and international M&A clients for over 20 years, advising them on strategic transactions both in France and overseas. He advises international groups, and investment funds on their acquisitions, disposals, and reorganizations. He has particular expertise in leveraged deals such as LBOs and OBOs.
In 2021, Géraud advised many clients on differents operations such as:
- Amundi Private Equity Funds, Demeter, Sofimac Im and CPG in the purchase of their shares in Ideol by BW Offshore;
- iM Global Partner in its new development phase with the arrival of two new investors, IK Investment Partners and Luxempart, alongside Eurazeo and Amundi (€500M business value);
- Amundi PEF, BNP Paribas, Sofipaca and Turenne Groupe in the purchase of their shares in HalioDx by Veracyte (€260M business value);
- Turenne Hôtellerie in the acquisition of the Le Champlain*** hotel in La Rochelle and the sale of the Novotel Suites Paris CDG Airport Villepinte**** hotel, Hotel Pax Strasbourg.
Géraud is a recognized leader in hotel acquisitions: in 2020-2021 he worked on more than 30 transactions in major French cities (Paris, Bordeaux, Lille, Strasbourg, Angers, Roissy, etc.).
Legal 500 has listed Sekri Valentin Zerrouk as a recommended law firm since 2008. In 2015, the firm’s mergers and acquisitions practice was recommended for its “competence, quality, and timely work. Prior to joining the firm as a partner in 2014, Mr. de Franclieu had been with Allen & Overy LLP, DLA Piper UK LLP, STC Partners (Counsel) and Courtois Lebel (Partner).
Mr. de Franclieu has a degree (maîtrise) in business law and taxation from Paris II Assas (1996), is a graduate of the School of Management of Lyon (EM) with a major in corporate finance (1998), and is a graduate of the Ecole de Formation du Barreau (EFB) (1999).
Mr. de Franclieu is a member of the EM Lyon alumni association and a member of the International Bar Association (IBA).
