Sylvain Paillotin


Sylvain Paillotin assists the executives and groups of Companies who face deadlock situations relating to cash flow.

He also advises the creditors and shareholders of the company in special circumstances, likewise the buyers of assets in the court.

He regularly intervenes on behalf of the administrators or liquidators.

His experience in restructuring matches the expertise of the firm in Distressed M&A and in particular the solution approach to major social conflicts led by Jean Marie Valentin.

Sylvai Paillotin is a member of l’IFPPC (institut Francais des Praticiens de Procedures collectives) et de l’IBA.


In recent years, Sylvain Paillotin has intervened on a number of issues related to the recapitalisation of companies in difficulty such as Orco Property Group (restructure of its bond debt of more than €500M as part of a safeguard procedure), Photowatt (459 employees, turnover of 160M€ – under judicial review and taken over by EDF-ENR), Virgin Stores ( 1145 employees, turnover of 305M€ – preparation and insolvency procedures of the judicial review),of the group Trailor-ACTM( 230 employees, industrial group manufacturing tractor trailers and complex vehicles – recapitalisation through a conciliation procedure followed by a safeguard procedure). He advises the liquidator of the group Smoby.

He regularly intervenes for companies and shareholders as part of a confidential and prevention procedure.

He has recently advised HBF for the takeover of Prodelect + assets.


Sylvain Paillotin is a member of the International Bar Association and he is the vice president of the committee ‘Legislation et Reglementation’ of the section ‘insolvability’.

A graduate from the Oxford University, Sylvain Paillotin assists his clients both in english and french.


Sylvain Paillotin is a co-author of the book Financing Company Group Restructurings (Oxford University Press 2015)
